About Lionel Hampton
Lionel Hampton was an American jazz vibraphonist, pianist, and bandleader — the musician who made the vibraphone a leading jazz instrument. A swinging, high-energy performer of the swing and bebop eras, he fronted his own band for decades and recorded alongside Benny Goodman and countless jazz greats.
